Maintenance fees

Maintenance fees are payable by the mining companies for the right to exploit mineral resources, such as power raw materials (e.g. coal), ores of precious metals and metal ores (e.g. copper ore), salts (e.g. rock salt), rock materials (e.g. ornamental stones) and groundwater (e.g. brine, thermal waters). The major part of revenue from these charges (60%) is the own revenue of the gmina in which the activity is carried out subject to licensing, the remaining part – the income of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
